Your journey begins with a comfortable trip to Switzerland, where you can choose between a flight or an overnight train to reach the beautiful town of Lucerne.

By flight: If you arrive by air, you can easily continue by train through the scenic Swiss landscape to Lucerne, idyllically located on the shores of Lake Lucerne (Vierwaldstättersee).

By overnight train: If you prefer a slower and more relaxing journey, you can travel by overnight train in your own private sleeping compartment. You will arrive well-rested and ready to begin your adventure in Switzerland.

From Lucerne, your journey continues on the Brünig Express, a scenic train route through some of the most beautiful landscapes in Switzerland. This route connects Lucerne and Interlaken and offers spectacular views along the way.

The train travels through the picturesque Bernese Oberland, where the landscape gradually changes from green meadows and lush forests to stunning lakes and impressive mountain ranges. Highlights include:

Lake Sarnen (Sarnersee) and Lake Lungern (Lungernsee): Two idyllic lakes with clear turquoise water, reflecting the surrounding mountains and villages.
Brünig Pass: The train climbs through this impressive mountain pass, where the scenery becomes more dramatic with increasing altitude. Here, you are rewarded with panoramic views over valleys and small villages scattered across the landscape.

From here, the train continues through lush valleys, charming villages and open meadows, where flowers and wooden houses create postcard-perfect scenery.

Start with a walk along the lakeside promenade, which stretches for several kilometres and is lined with colourful flowerbeds, sculptures and palm trees. The view over Lake Geneva, with mountains in the background, is breathtaking, and the statue of Freddie Mercury along the promenade celebrates the connection between Montreux and music, as well as the legendary Queen frontman.

One of the main attractions is the impressive Chillon Castle, located just outside Montreux. Dating back to the Middle Ages, the castle sits beautifully on the lakeshore and offers a fascinating journey through centuries of history, including dungeons, halls and towers, all with views over the lake.

By flight: From Montreux, you take the train to the nearest airport, typically Geneva or Zurich, where direct connections to Denmark are available. This option offers a fast and comfortable end to your journey.

By overnight train: If you prefer a more relaxed return, you can travel north by train and connect to a modern overnight train with your own private sleeping compartment. Here, you can unwind as the train passes through scenic landscapes across Europe, and wake up refreshed in Denmark the next morning.
