Train Journey to Lake Garda – Camping Holiday by the Beautiful Lake in Italy
Lake Garda is one of the most beautiful holiday destinations in Italy and offers a wide variety of experiences depending on preferences. Here it is possible to combine relaxing days by the water with charming towns, local markets, boat trips and activities suitable for families of all ages.
Area around Lake Garda
Moreover, the area around the lake includes atmospheric towns such as Desenzano del Garda, Sirmione, Limone sul Garda and Peschiera del Garda. In each destination, different campsite options are available. Choosing a campsite is therefore not only about location, but also about atmosphere, comfort and standard.
Some visitors prefer peace, privacy and a touch of luxury. Others, however, prioritise lively surroundings, activities and a more budget-friendly holiday experience.
Desenzano Lake Village ****
Desenzano Lake Village ****, Desenzano del Garda – For adults and couples looking for a peaceful stay close to town.
This calm resort area offers plenty of space, a private beach and a high level of comfort. It is ideal for those who want relaxation close to town, yet away from too much activity.
In contrast, this is a smaller and quieter campsite without a large water park or children’s activities. However, it offers an excellent location close to Desenzano town and the lake, with a more boutique-style atmosphere than a traditional resort.
Camping Bella Italia *****
Camping Bella Italia *****, Peschiera del Garda – For families who want everything included.
This is a lively and well-equipped campsite with a water park, restaurants and a wide range of activities. As a result, it is an excellent choice for families who prefer everything in one place.
It is a very large campsite with aquapark, shows, entertainment, restaurants and a vibrant atmosphere. Therefore, a wide variety of facilities is available in exchange for scale and activity level.
Baia Holiday Gasparina ****
Baia Holiday Gasparina ****, Peschiera del Garda – For families looking for good value and nice facilities.
Meanwhile, this campsite focuses on simplicity, location and access to experiences. It is particularly suitable when budget and proximity to attractions are important.
In addition, it is more compact and easy to navigate, often at a lower price level than larger 5-star resorts. Pool, lake access and proximity to Gardaland are available, but without a full resort concept.
The Garda Village ****
The Garda Village ****, Sirmione – For those seeking extra comfort and a resort feel.
This resort offers a good standard and a central location close to Sirmione town life and attractions. Therefore, it is ideal for travellers who want variety during a stay.
Furthermore, the layout follows a holiday village style with large pools, beach access, sports facilities and plenty of space. Overall, the experience is closer to “light luxury” than traditional camping, suitable for both families and adults.
